Public health experts blast plan to ban e-cigarettes

AVI press release (via Brands2Life) · 5 September 2018

A week after the Centre’s advisory, AVI gathered reactions from independent public health experts rather than its own directors: Prof Rajesh Sharan (biochemistry, North Eastern Hill University) questioned why e-cigarettes were being targeted while tobacco cigarettes weren’t; Mumbai cardio-metabolic physician Dr Rohan Sequeira called the advisory a “knee-jerk reaction” citing the UK’s reversal of its own earlier vaping restrictions; and Mumbai dental surgeon Dr Anand Krishnamurthy described his own improved health after switching from smoking to vaping.
