Transitions in tobacco product use involving combustible cigarettes, heated tobacco products and electronic cigarettes among 7 million South Korean adults: a prospective cohort study.
A large Korean study tracking 7 million adults found that while heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes may help some smokers quit conventional cigarettes, they are associated with more people starting or returning to smoking and fewer people quitting tobacco entirely. People using multiple tobacco products typically return to conventional cigarettes rather than achieving complete cessation.
