A 2025 survey of American middle and high school students found that overall tobacco use continued to decline to 7.2%, but nicotine pouches—a newer product—doubled in use since 2021 and became the second-most popular tobacco product after e-cigarettes. Daily e-cigarette use among youth has increased significantly, and most young users prefer flavored tobacco products.
