A UK study tested whether a 12-week personalized smoking support program could help mental health patients maintain quit attempts after discharge from smoke-free hospital wards. While participants valued the tailored support, the program did not meet success targets for participant retention, suggesting that mental health populations need different approaches to prevent return to smoking.
