Predictors of cigarette discontinuation and reduction among adults never planning to quit smoking: Longitudinal findings from the U.S. Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) study, 2014/15-2021.
Among U.S. smokers who had no intention to quit, those who began using e-cigarettes daily were significantly more likely to reduce or stop smoking cigarettes compared to those who never used e-cigarettes. However, only 2% of this population adopted daily e-cigarette use, suggesting e-cigarettes played a limited but notable role in reducing smoking in this resistant-to-quitting group.
Relevance to India: None stated.
