Effect of a collaborative intervention by pharmacists and dentists on smoking cessation.
When pharmacists and dentists worked together to help smokers quit using counseling, nicotine replacement therapy, and digital follow-up, about a quarter achieved complete abstinence and another fifth cut their smoking in half within six months. Adding nicotine replacement therapy to counseling produced significantly better results than counseling alone.
